Two mathematicians met on a train journey. Both were accompanied by their sons. The first explained he was four times older than his lad, but added that in three years' time he and his son's ages would be reversals of each other.

The second said he was only twice as old as his own son. Their ages would not be reversals of each other for another twenty years.

How old is each mathematician now?
